Paepalanthus urbanianus Ruhland in Engler, Pflanzenr. IV. 30 (Heft 13): 188 (1903).
Type: BRAZIL. Goiás: “Serra dos Veadeiros, dans campo sec, 15 January 1895, Glaziou 22318 (holotype: B!, isotypes: BR!, C!, G!, K!, LE!, NY!, P!).
= Paepalanthus urbanianus var. angustifolius Moldenke, Phytologia 39: 330 (1978). Type: BRAZIL. Goiás: “Chapada dos Veadeiros, 23 March 1969, H. S. Irwin & al. 24936 (holotype: NY!), syn. nov.
