Remarks. Porcellana sayana is found often as a commensal of at least four hermit crabs (Haig 1956; Meireles & Mantelatto 2008; Fransozo et al. 2011; Brooks & Rittschof 2014) and gastropods (Telford & Daxboeck 1978), or free living on sandy, muddy, and shell bottoms down to a depth of 100 m (Werding 1982; Veloso & Melo 1993). One ovigerous female was found in association with the sponge crab, Dromia erythropus (Edwards in Catesby, 1771) (CCDB 5299).
