In our RDM efforts at Hildesheim University Foundation, we strongly recommend the FAIR principles (in our guidelines, but more importantly in our everyday work, that means we manage research data that way, in a FAIR way) with our library’s support.
Our guest speaker Dr. Simon Hodson has been Executive Director of CODATA since August 2013. He has been an expert on data policy issues and research data management for a very long time, i.e. over a decade. Furthermore, he has contributed to influential reports on Current Best Practice for Research Data Management Policies and to the Science International Accord on Open Data in a Big Data World.
S.H. chaired the European Commission’s Expert Group on FAIR Data which produced the report Turning FAIR into Reality (https://doi.org/10.2777/1524 ). Moreover, Dr. Simon Hodson has a strong research background, as well as considerable project and programme management experience. He led two successful phases of Jisc’s innovative Managing Research Data programme in the UK and we were very happy to have him with us.
The session was recorded also. We will publish the link here, too, as soon as it will be available.
