/Data Dancing. Digital Approaches to Temporal Communities from 'Pagan Dance' Imaginaries to Zorba the Greek/.

Description

At the interface of Literary Studies and Digital Humanities, Research Area 5 (RA 5) of the Cluster of Excellence “Temporal Communities: Doin Literature in a Global Perspective” interrogates data-rich approaches to the transtemporal and cross-medial life of literature. Within a Cluster that explores how literature reaches out through space and time to establish temporalities of its own, RA 5 both wields and critically reflects upon digitality. We examine what it means to model or capture digitally ‘global literature’ if it is not definable as a worldwide library of books. In our engagement with the Cluster’s core concept of ‘temporal communities’, we test, try, and experiment with concept modelling, graph-oriented datafication, and exploratory data visualisation, while developing a relational, de-centred and entangled situatedness in our research of literature through its extensive transtemporal networks.
