- ACKNOWLEDGMENTS. Preparation of the Australian Drosophilidae Checklist supported by Australian Biological Resources Survey (ABRS) led to the discovery of synonymy of dispar and setifemur. Extensive collecting in the Sydney region for the Australian Museum Pilot GIS Survey in 1991 was supported by an Australian Museum Visiting Scientist Research Fellowship for which I am most grateful. Many other records of the species discussed here are the result of drosophilid surveys supported by the Northeast New South Wales Forests Survey (NSW NPWS); and the IBISCA surveys of Lamington NP. Other specimens examined in this study were collected by P. Parsons, R. van Klinken, J.S.F. Barker, D. McAlpine, M. Polak, W. Starmer, M. Schiffer, D. Britton, C. Lambkin, N. Starick, and D. Wright. I thank David McAlpine, Dan Bickel, Gerhard Bachli and Michele Schiffer for useful comments.
