Perceptual Punch Tool (VST and AU Plugins)

  • 1. Applied Psychoacoustics Lab (APL), University of Huddersfield

Description

Perceptual Punch Tool v1.1

The Perceptual Punch tool is a VST/AU plugin for measuring and manipulating the perceptual punch attribute. It is supplied in both Windows and OSX plugin versions that can be run with any VST or AU host.

The tool measures "perceived auditory punch" of musical signals in real-time using novel measures such as PM95 and PM95M. The measures have been tested and are highly correlated with human perception of the underlying attribute. The tool can be used to compare complete mixes (2 Channel Stereo) or individual stems (1 or 2 channel).

Compatibility

The current version of the code and its associated release is compatible with both macOS and Windows.

Prerequisites

Any VST/AU Host.

Installing

Place the plugin files within your AU or VST directories. Rescan to make sure the plugin is picked up.
