Description

Genus Penicillidia Kolenati, 1863

Penicillidia conspicua Speiser, 1901

Distribution. Russian Federation: Ulyanovsk Province (Stackelberg 1970), Tatarstan Republic (Volkova 1957). Europe (Szentiványi et al. 2016; Szentiványi et al. 2018a; Haelewaters et al. 2017; Sándor et al. 2018; Jensen et al. 2018). Caucasus (Farafonova & Yavruyan 1989; Szentiványi et al. 2018b). North Africa (Hůrka 1984). Central Asia (Polkanov & Medvedev 1997). Near East (Malek-Hosseini et al. 2016).

Hosts. Miniopterus schreibersii (Stackelberg 1970; Hůrka 1984; Farafonova & Yavruyan 1989; Polkanov & Med- vedev 1997; Farafonova & Gornostaev 2018), Myotis spp. (Stackelberg 1970), My. blythii (Szentiványi et al. 2016), My. capaccinii (Szentiványi et al. 2016), My. myotis (Szentiványi et al. 2016), My. mystacinus (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Pipistrellus kuhlii (Aktaş & Hasbenli 1994), Vespertilio murinus (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Plecotus auritus (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Rhinolophus blasii (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Rh. euryale (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Rh. ferrumequinum (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Rh. hipposideros (Szentiványi et al. 2016), Rh. mehelyi (Hůrka 1984), Rhinolophus sp. (Stackelberg 1970), “ Vesperugo sp.” (Volkova 1957).

Remarks. The record from Chitinskaya Province (Russia) by Jovty et al. (1962) is doubtful, since it was collected outside the range of the principal host.
