MATÉRIEL EXAMINÉ. — Espagne. Asturies, Mer Cantabrique, 1889-1997 m, 1 spm. (MNHN). Golfe ibéro marocain, Campagne BALGIM (1984), stn CP69, 35°11’N, 07°50’W, 1978-2077 m, sur bois coulés perforés par des xylophages, 2 spm. (MNHN).

REMARQUES

Petite espèce (longueur maximale, «environ 8 mm » [Jeffreys1883]; 7,15 mm [Dean 1993])généralement associée à des bois coulés mais pouvant aussi se développer sur d’autres résidus organiques comme des os de baleines (Warén 1991); présente des deux côtés de l’Atlantique Nord à des profondeurs variant de 150 à 3700 m environ (Olabarria2005), du sud de l’Islande et de la ride Féroé-Shetlands au nord-ouest du Maroc (Salas 1996) et aux Açores, et du Massachusetts aux Bahamas (Gustafson et al. 1998).
