Type data. T. vandersandei: ex man, Dutch New Guinea (Indonesia, West Papua Province); S. blestowe i: ex man, Papua New Guinea, Sepik District, Suein River; S. blestowei var. megapodius: ex Megapodius reinwardt (syn. Megapodius duperreyi), Papua New Guinea, Sepik District, Suein River.

Hosts. RODENTIA: Rattus exulans, R. leucopus, R. sordidus; SCANDENTIA: Tupaia glis; CARNIVORA: Canis lupus familiaris, Felis catus; PERAMELEMORPHIA: Echymipera kalubu; PRIMATES: Homo sapiens; AVES: Megapodius reinwardt.

Distribution. Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands.

Remarks. Schoengastia yeomansi Gunther, 1938 (nomen nudum) was properly described as S. blestowei Gunther, 1939; this species should not be mixed with Neoschoengastia yeomansi Gunther, 1939 (syn. Neoschoengastia jamesi Gunther, 1938, nomen nudum).
