Whartonia recurvata Chen and Hsu, 1959: 549, figs. 1–10.

Type deposition. W. caobangensis: ZMMU Tdt 3175 (syntypes); W. recurvata: ZSM.

Type data. W. caobangensis: Ex Hipposideros armiger, North Vietnam; W. recurvata: ex Pipistrellus pipistrellus and Hipposideros larvatus poutensis (syn. Hipposideros poutensis), China, Kwangtung (Guangdong) Province, Mapa, Kukong.

Hosts. CHIROPTERA: Hipposideros armiger, H. bicolor, H. cervinus, H. diadema, H. larvatus, H. larvatus poutensis, Kerivoula hardwickii, Pipistrellus pipistrellus, Rhinolophus affinis.

Distribution. China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam.

Remarks. Whartonia recurvata was synonymized with W. caobangensis by Domrow (1962c), but Vercammen-Grandjean (1968) listed the former as a separate species.
