Cold War spy satellite images reveal long-term declines of a philopatric keystone species in response to cropland expansion

Description

The paper pioneers the use of Cold War Spy Satellite Imagery for ecological questions. We show that bobak marmots respond with a decline of some 50 years to historical agricultural conversions.
