Description

We have applied a number of innovative quantitative research methods to all archaeological literature produced during the period 1945-2017 about the territory of Belgium. Only literature in Dutch was selected for this study since multilingual analysis would have gone beyond the scope of this research. Over 4,500 archaeological documents were included in this study, totaling over 51 million words. All types of documents were assessed ranging from monographs, journal articles to published excavation reports. In order to prevent copyright infringement, we removed all conjunctions, articles, and all words smaller than 4 letters. Additionally, we included a stoplist and all available metadata that is necessary to replicate the research.
