Description
From the textual analysis of language, critical discourse analysis (CDA) appears. CDA deals with the analysis of linguistic characteristics in relation to the broader social, cultural, political and ideological contexts in which the language is used. This article shows how CDA can be useful in the field of teaching / learning FLE (French as a foreign language). Learners of French, as a foreign language, are usually faced with the big tasks of learning not only new vocabularies, syntactic patterns and phonology, but also the speech and contexts of the target language. Within the CDA, there are many analytical tools that can be exploited by ESL teachers. The research aims to demonstrate that the use of a text CDA will make learners more motivated and therefore more efficient, and will improve the learning process in general.
