Description

Flabellum apertum Moseley, 1876

Material examined: BBB 2017: St. 31; St. 33 (MACN-In: 41691, 41692).

Distribution: Circum-Subantarctic, including off Prince Edward islands; Hjort Seamount; Macquire Ridge; off Chile; off Malvinas (Falkland) Islands; Malvinas Plateau; off Brazil; off southern New Zealand. Depth range: 220–1500 m (Cairns 1982; Cordeiro et al. 2012).

Remarks: This species was already recorded for Burdwood bank (Cairns 1982; see also Schejter & Bremec 2019).
