Recommendation on the new influenza A (H1N1) virus

The VWA Management Team has asked about the implications of the new influenza A (H1N1) virus which are of interest for the scope of the VWA.  In response to this question four routes of transmission of the virus were identified that are important for both VWA staff as well as for consumers and livestock holders: via food, human to animal, animal to human and via non-food channels.
