Corchorus olitorius Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 529. 1753.

Lectotype (Wild in Exell & al., Fl. Zambesiaca 2: 84. 1963): Herb. Clifford: 209, Corchorus 1 (BM-000628760).
Generitype of Corchorus Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot:. 162. 1929).
Current name: Corchorus olitorius L. (Tiliaceae).
