Description
Poa alpina Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 67. 1753.
"Habitat in alpibus Lapponicis, Helveticis." RCN: 568.
Lectotype (Soreng in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 254. 2000): Herb. Linn. No. 87.2 (LINN).
Current name: Poa alpina L. (Poaceae).
Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 235. 1975) stated "Type:...LINN", this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000).
