Description
Butomus umbellatus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 372. 1753.
"Habitat in Europae aquosis." RCN: 2931.
Lectotype (Barrie in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 27. 1993): Herb. A. van Royen No. 897.288-115 (L, see p. 247; iso- L).
Generitype of Butomus Linnaeus.
Current name: Butomus umbellatus L. (Butomaceae).
Note: Dandy (in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 79: 1. 1971) indicated 521.1 (LINN) as type but this sheet is unannotated by Linnaeus and cannot be accepted as original material.
