Parablennius gattorugine (Linnaeus 1758) —Tompot blenny

Taxonomy. New record from Lebanon, based on a specimen collected from off Beirut (7 April 2006). Material in collection: AUBM (OS0633).

Distribution. North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara, Black Sea, eastern North Atlantic: English Channel south to Morocco.

Conservation. IUCN: Global (LC: 14 November 2007); Med. (LC: 14 November 2007). Capture and threats: HAB, Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare. Low priority for conservation action.
