Distribution. China (Anhu, Chongqing, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Shanghai, Sichuan, Taiwan, Yunnan, Zhejiang); India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam.

Remarks. According to Chen & Yang (2004), A. cavatiptera Chen & Song was similar to A. opacus (Ashmead) except T2 was longer, vein r was indistinctly angled with 2-SR, and hind femur was blackish brown in the latter. A. glacilipes Song & Chen was similar to A. derogate Watanabe except longer antenna and ovipositor sheath and yellowish T 3 in the latter. Apanteles derogate is junior synonym of A. opacus (Ashmead). Based on numerous specimens studied above, we believe A. cavatiptera Chen & Song and A. glacilipes Song & Chen are also junior synonyms of A. opacus (Ashmead) and characters mentioned above are within its variation.
