Spectrarcturus furcatus (Kussakin, 1982) comb. nov.

(Fig. 28)

Pleuroprion furcatum Kussakin, 1982: 430–432, figs 319–320.

Material examined: Holotype female, ZIN RAS cat. no. 1/63644, station 3013, 24 July 1959, R / V Pervenets, Bering Sea.

Diagnosis: Body densely setose, with slender, bluntly pointed spines; head with anteriorly with middorsal spine, posterior row of spines across head; row of spines across pereonite 1; pereonites 2 and 3 with row of spines across pereonite; pereonite 4 with anterior and posterior row of spines across pereonite, pair of spines between rows; pereonite 4 0.2 times body length; trapezoid, 1.7 times longer than third pereonite. Pleotelson long, with few long spines anteriorly; lateral margins with spines; posterior part of pleotelson tapeing towards apex. Antennula short, reaching little beyond distal end of second peduncular segment of antenna. Antenna long and slender, about 0.8 of total body length; with pronounced spine dorsally on third segment, spine near mid-laterally on fourth segment. Spines absent from basis of pereopods 5–7, small bump on basis of pereopod 6. Oostegites present at least on pereopod 4.

Remarks: The species can be distinguished from other species of Spectrarcturus on the shape of the pleotelson and the configuration of the spines on the body. The male is not yet known.

Distribution: Bering Sea, Northwest Pacific, at 255 m (Kussakin 1982).
