DSpace-CRIS & ORCID: ORCID-Austria Online Tech-Workshop
Description
The presentation provides an overview of the DSpace-CRIS integration available in the current versions (5.x, 6.x) and an update about the current implementation status for the coming DSpace-CRIS 7.
DSpace-CRIS provides the most advanced and complete integration between a CRIS / Repository system and ORCID, achieving most of the ORCID integration use cases.
It allows for instance, using the most recent ORCID API v3, to pull and push information from and to the ORCID registry both about the Researcher Profile and linked entities like publications and projects and embedded information such as Employment and Education. Moreover, DSpace-CRIS can be used to authenticate users via the ORCID credentials and link authors, investigators and more in general any person referenced by a research output (publication, dataset, patent) via the ORCID Registry. Proactive CV curation with notifications of new publications found in the ORCID profile can also benefit from the WebHook ORCID feature available with the Premium Member API.
The available functionalities can be configured and adapted to the level of ORCID API (public, member, premium) available to the Institution so that everyone can benefit from them to the largest extent.
