ABSTRACT
The informed consent in medical matters is constituted in the record that the patient has been respected in his autonomy and explaining in a clear and understandable way his situation, the possible procedures to be practiced, risks and technical means. Despite this, in a hospital in Medellín - Colombia the sexual and reproductive rights of a woman were violated. Without her consent, the treating doctors cut his Fallopian tubes. The ordinary colombian justice did not pay due attention to the case. The victim went to the Inter-American Court of human rights, declaring the state responsible.
