Simple Batch Record Linkage System (SimBa)
Description
A generic Tool for Record Linkage of special categories of personal data in small networked research projects with distributed data sources.
The application allows the pseudonymization of large amounts of data. CSV files are processed. A unique identifier, such as the German health insurance number, is used for the record linkage.
The application is programmed in Java. It is a client-server architecture. The client is an executable desktop application with user interface. The application language is German and can be set to English, language changes are relatively easy to adjust via a settings file.
Files are encrypted after the pseudoynmization and there is also the possibility to send the files via FTP protocol.
The software was used in the research project to process CSV files with several million lines.
