Bideshi Shabder Bangla Banan: Kayekti Pratisthanbhittik Paryabekshan

Bengali, like most of the natural languages, does not hold one-to-one relationship with regard to phonemes and the letters. It results in a very complex orthographic system and various pronunciation problems also arise. In this research paper, attempts have been made to pinpoint the main problem with Bengali orthography.  Special importance have been given to spelling of foreign words which got assimilated in Bengali. In the end, some socio-grammatico proposals have been suggested to streamline the messy situation of Bengali transliteration.
