Nonlinear elastic behaviour of aero-engine materials for microstructure and stress state characterization

In this paper the overview of third order elastic constants measurements on sample surface with 2 approaches are presented. One of the methods is the acousto-elastic constants (AEC) determination. Results of AEC measurements with velocity dispersion for Inconel
718 are shown. In the other part utilization of surface acoustic waves (SAW) mixing for TOEC determination is examined. Preliminary results of acoustic nonlinear parameter measurement for Ti6246 are presented.
