Description
These are supplementary netCDF files to the publication "Lagrangian modelling of a person lost at sea during the Adriatic
scirocco storm of 29 October 2018" (doi: https://doi.org/10.5194/nhess-20-1-2020) in journal Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences.
NetCDF files contain modeling and observational data from:
- atmospheric model (ALADIN)
- ocean model (NEMO)
- HF radar WERA observational system in the Gulf of Trieste
- OpenDrift Lagrangian Model particle tracking Leeway module
Files names:
- rMarineDrift_WERA_leeway_obj42_duration_18.nc: 18 hours of OpenDrift particle type 42 (person with surfboard) backpropagation from beaching location. Forcing with HF radar currents and ALADIN winds.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_1_24h.nc: 24 hours of OpenDrift particle type 1 (person in water) forward propagation from accident location. Forcing with NEMO currents and ALADIN winds.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_1_windOnly_24h.nc: same as above, but with wind only forcing.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_42_24h.nc: 24 hours of OpenDrift particle type 42 (person with surfboard) forward propagation from accident location. Forcing with NEMO currents and ALADIN winds.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_42_backprop_rev2.nc: OpenDrift particle type 42 (person with surfboard) back propagation from beaching location. Forcing with NEMO currents and ALADIN winds.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_42_currentOnly.nc: OpenDrift particle type 42 (person with surfboard) forward propagation from beaching location. Forcing with NEMO currents only.
- rNEMO_ASI_Drift_obj_42_windOnly_24h.nc: OpenDrift particle type 42 (person with surfboard) forward propagation from beaching location. Forcing with ALADIN winds only.
- rNEMO_surface_20181029-20181130.nc: NEMO surface currents during period of the drift.
- rWERA_ASI_gridded_OpenDrift_Input_2018102916_20181 ...: WERA HF radar data during period of the drift.
