Description

This paper and presentation describes an attempt to index British historical archive the Prize Papers using a Handwriting Recognition Technology (HRT) known as MONK which was developed at the University of Groningen. As part of these efforts we organised a 'labelathon' event which brought together 14 expert volunteers for five hours of labelling. The presentation details how we prepared the archive to ensure that labelling activities had an indexation focus, before describing the outcome of this event.
