Description

Data extracted from NanoSIMS analysis with the software Look@NanoSIMS (Polerecky et al. 2012). Different foraminiferal cytoplasmic compartments and the symbiotic dinoflagellates were analyzed for their 13C/12C and 15N/14N isotopic ratios. Three experiments were made: incubations with (1) 13C-bicarbonate and 15N-ammonium, (2) 13C-bicarbonate and 15N-nitrate, and (3) feeding with 13C- and 15N-labeled food. Details can be found in the manuscript:
LeKieffre C. et al. 2020. Ammonium is the preferred source of nitrogen for planktonic foraminifer and their dinoflagellate symbionts. Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
