Description

This is the supplementary file for the article "Phase transition of enstatite-ferrosilite solid solutions at high-pressure and high-temperature: Constraints on metastable orthopyroxene in cold subduction". It includes ten figures which show the microimages of synthetic orthopyroxenes, the FTIR spectrum, the P-T path of the high pressure-temperature experiments, the single-crystal X-ray diffraction images collected at high pressure-temperature, and the unit-cell parameters and thermoelastic parameters of orthopyroxene as a function of the chemical compositions.

The nine tables in the file describe the chemical compositions of the samples, the unit-cell parameters of each orthopyroxene at various P-T conditions, the detailed structural information of each orthopyroxene and its high-pressure phase, the thermoelastic parameters of orthopyroxenes with various compositions, and the thermoelastic parameters of various high-pressure phases of orthopyroxenes.

The four texts in the file detail the sample synthesis, the chemical and FTIR measurements, the in situ high pressure-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments, and the data processing.
