Since 2019, the ANR has implemented Open Science requirements (Open Access to publications and Data Management Plan) for projects funded under the 2019 and subsequent calls for projects[i]. These obligations are part of the French national strategy for Open Science, initiated with the National Plan for Open Science[ii] in 2018.
If funded projects have obligations, the project coordinators can anticipate these requirements as early as the grant proposal writing phase, when they draw up their full proposal. It allows them to improve the viability of their project by identifying support services and the means necessary to implement an ambitious Open Science strategy. Anticipating these aspects can also facilitate collaborations within teams and consortia to make Open Science an opportunity rather than a constraint.
This guide has a practical aim to help researchers take into account Open Science in each section of their full proposal, but it is not:
