Brexit in the channel: Europe cut of: a young German scientist's perspective

  • 1. Astbury Centre for Structural Molecular Biology, School of Biomedical Science, University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT, England, UK

Description

This is an opinion article describing my personal experience of the impact of the political decisions made surrounding Brexit on the british society during my time as a visiting researcher in the UK. I briefly describe the apparent differences in the values that I was taught during my upbringing and compare it to the immediate different values of the british society that I encountered. An elaborate argument for remaining in the European Union is given and why we all benefit from collaboration especially in the scientific community.
