ИСТОРИЧЕСКОЕ ВАРЬИРОВАНИЕ ПРИНЦИПА ВЕЖЛИВОСТИ В РЕЧЕВЫХ АКТАХ ДИРЕКТИВАХ В АНГЛОЯЗЫЧНОМ ДИСКУРСЕ 16–20 ВВ.

Description

In modern linguistics principles and strategies of speech interaction areanalyzed and studied a lot in synchrony. Politeness strategies, that are used in imperative discourse are considered to be diachronic features. They are analyzed as the result of social and cultural changes in the society. Politeness principles and strategies are not constant, they ary according to social and ethno- cultural aspects of communication of this or that historical period. Considering the tendencies of the evolution of politeness principles in the imperative discourse, we find great increasing of the number of the negative politeness strategies. Negative politeness strategies still dominate in requestives of the 17-18 th c. In the 19th.-20th. c. the number of negative politeness strategies increases, at the same period the number of directive speech acts, that are realized indirectly increases as well. In the 16th.-17th. c. special addressing was widely used, like -good sir-. In the modern language this addressing is not used already, as the process of communication in the society became more democratic. The vocabulary of the identified markers varies in different historical periods. In the 18th.c. the influence of positive politeness is reduced. It is realized mostly by different forms of addressing. In the 18th.-19th.c. addressing to a person by his or her name became common. At the same period marker please became frequent.
