Tetrablemma mochima Martínez & Flórez & Brescovit 2020, sp. nov.

Types. Holotype ♂ from Parque Nacional Mochima (10°18′35.77″N; 64°33′40.45″W), Estado Sucre, Venezuela, XII.2002, A. Pérez & A. Giupponi leg. (MNRJ 18419).

Etymology. The specific epithet is referent to the type locality where the species was found. The name is a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Males of Tetrablemma mochima sp. nov. resemble those of T. brignolii Lehtinen, 1981 and T. tatacoa sp. nov. by the presence of a simple process at the base of the embolus (see Lehtinen, 1981:64, figs 246a, b; Figs 2 A−B, 4C−D); however, males of Tetrablemma mochima sp. nov. can be distinguished from those of the other two species by the triangular process at the base of the embolus, approximately 1/2 as long as the embolus, and a small embolic process (different in length and shape from those of T. brignolii and T. tatacoa sp. nov.) (Fig. 6 D−E).

Description. Male (MNRJ 18419). Total body length 0.99, carapace length 0.40, width 0.38, height 0.34. Clypeus height 0.20. Eye diameters and interdistances: ALE 0.05, PLE 0.03; PLE separated by approximately one diameter. Sternum length 0.26, width 0.27. Chelicerae (paturon) length 0.13. Legs: Leg I—femur 0.35/ patella 0.10/ tibia 0.25/ metatarsus 0.18/ tarsus 0.18/ total 1.06; II—0.30/ 0.07/ 0.21/ 0.15/ 0.16/ 0.89; III—0.26/ 0.06/ 0.19/ 0.15/ 0.14/ 0.79; IV—0.35/ 0.10/ 0.28/ 0.17/ 0.16/ 1.06. Abdomen length 0.49, width 0.51. Body coloration orange. Legs yellow-brown. Spinnerets pale yellow. Carapace: cephalothorax finely reticulated, slightly raised, and suboval-shaped; four eyes in one group on a monticule, posterior half of carapace with black ocular base, ALE>PLE, ALE and PLE adjacent; clypeus high and anteriorly projected with the anterior edge rounded; thoracic region with cuticle granulated; Chelicerae with a wide and developed frontal apophysis on the anterior side, and with wide and laminar basal projections; endites subquadrangular-shaped with anterior edge straight and very wide basal edge; labium trapezoidal-shaped, wider than long and with lateral edges projected; sternum rugose, longer than wide, covered with fine setae. Leg cuticle striated, covered with modified setae mainly in metatarsus and tarsus. Opisthosoma: covered with black and fine setae on posterior edge; dorsal scutum oval-shaped and smooth; ventral scutum (pulmonar scutum) finely reticulated and with some fine setae; lateral scutum I very long, extending to the posterior side of the anal plate; postgenital scutum trapezoidal-shaped, long, and narrow, with anterior edge straight, and lateral edges with quadrangular apex; preanal scutum rectangular-shaped and approximately twice as wide as postgenital scutum, with all edges rounded (Fig. 6 A−C). Palp: femur cylindric and long, with some simple setae on the cuticle; patella short; tibia short and very swollen with fine and long setae; cymbium short with long setae and a small organ; bulb large and pear-shaped; spermatic ducts very wide at the base and becoming narrower toward the embolus; embolus long, slightly curved at medial portion and inserted basally, filiform toward distal end; process of the embolic base short, wide, and triangular shaped (Fig. 6 D−E).

Female. Unknown.

Distribution. Only known from its type locality (Fig. 7).
