Growth of marine fungi in microtitre plates on 4 carbohydrates

  • 1. VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.

Description

Data for optical density of 8 marine fungi growing in either a BioScreen C or incubated in a Cytomat plate hotel, with OD measured using a DTX 880 multimode detector:  Penicillium pinophilum LF458, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis LF580, Tritiracium sp. LF562, Calcarisorium sp. KF525, Penicillium chrysogenum KF657, Dendryphiella salina LF304, Asteromyces cruciatus LF680 and Halenospora varia KF560 obtained from the culture collection of the Kiel Center for marine natural products at GEOMAR, Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel. Data from the BioScreen C and the Cytomat plate hotel are in separate files. Fungi were grown on 4 alternative carbon sources (glucose, xylose, galactose and glycerol) or without added carbon. In addition, one file summarises the results of glycerol added with the inoculum on the specific growth rate, maximum OD and duration of lag, using strain Penicillium chrysogenum KF654, also obtained from GEOMAR.

This data is published in an article by Tamminen et al.
