The sources for the periods are: 1 – Scott and Duthie (1898); 2 – Poulsen (1928); 3 – Elgmork and Halvorsen (1971), Lützen (1978), Kristjánsson (1979), Jensen (1987), Enckell (1995); 4 – Lauridsen and Hansson (2002), Malmquist et al. (2002), Jeppesen et al. (2002), Amsinck et al. (2006); 5 – this study. Linear trend is shown as dashed line (r2 = 0.792).
