Description
In this artifact, we release the metadata repository of all the library versions on the PyPI ecosystem from 6 Nov, 2002 (the date of PyPI being founded) to 31 Dec, 2020, under the MIT License. To reproduce the evaluation results in Section 5.1 of this paper, we also release a series of scripts, which help to replay the evolution history of the 16,421 releases of 2,067 projects on PyPI from 1 Jan, 2017 to 30 Jun, 2019. To ease evaluation, we divided the whole period into five sub-periods, including: (1) Period 1 : 1 Jan 2017 – 30 Jun 2017, (2) Period 2 : 1 Jul 2017 – 31 Dec 2017, (3) Period 3 : 1 Jan 2018 – 30 Jun 2018, (4) Period 4 : 1 Jul 2018 – 31 Dec 2018, (5) Period 5 : 1 Jan 2019 – 30 Jun 2019.
