MONITORING THE IMPACT OF LANDSLIDE AFTERMATH ON AQUATIC VEGETATION IN LAKE MEZZOLA USING SENTINEL-2

Description

Presence, abundance and health conditions of aquatic plants, or macrophytes, in freshwater
and wetland ecosystem is crucial for biogeochemical processes, interactions with other organisms,
and provision of food and shelter to animal communities, such as fish and birds.
The objective of this work is to assess the capabilities of Sentinel-2 data for monitoring the
impacts of the aftermath of landslide events, which took place upstream of Lake Mezzola (North
Italy), on the communities of submerged vegetation and riparian reed beds.
