Cykl rozwojowy i stadia rozwojowe pryszczarka robiniowego Obolodiplosis robiniae (Haldeman, 1847) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) w południowo-zachodniej Polsce

Description

Obolodiplosis robiniae is an alien species in Poland. Its larvae cause galls on leaflets mostly of Robinia pseudoacacia. Results of the study of the life cycle and developmental stages of O. robiniae, carried out in south-western Poland in the period 2009–2014 are presented. During the study it has been discovered, that O. robiniae formed two-three, sporadically four, generations per year. The first, most numerous, generation appeared in May-June, the second one in June-July, and the third in July-August. Each generation included both: pupae and larvae characterised by yellow pigmentation, later destined for wintering. The larval stage lasted approximately 22 days, that of pupa – from 5 to 8 days, whereas imagines lived 3–5 days. The larvae passed three phases of growth during which they are differed in external features and activities. Pupae developed from fully-grown larvae of white colour. The numerical sex ratio was 3:2 in favour of females.
