Small data and hand-crafted infrastructures: alternative models for digital research in the humanities

Description

Invited presentation for the School of Humanities and Social Inquiry’s Provocations seminar series, University of Wollongong, 27 September 2018

In May the government announced much-needed funding for a range of research infrastructure projects. Once again, however, the needs of the humanities and social sciences were largely overlooked. But what do we actually need? In this talk I want to flip the idea of digital research infrastructure to look at small-scale interventions rather than national platforms. What can we do now to support digital research in the humanities?
