The painting of Andrei Mudrea, an universe of light
Creators
Description
Andrei Mudrea is part of the generation of plastic artists whose creation evolved, at the beginning, under the sign of Mihail Grecu’s work. Andrei Sârbu, Dmitri Peicev, Tudor Zbârnea and others, after the passage of time, have manifested themselves on other branches of the artistic experiment, distancing themselves distinctly from the priorities of their mentor, each promoting a personal discourse and a particular stylistic manner. The same thing happened in Andrei Mudrea’s creation, for which, in the years 1980–1990, they became a manifestation with powerful dramatic accents, reflected in the scales of the Old Orhei or in the subjects of the New and Old Testament, anchored in the history and culture of medieval Moldova. In the next period (after 2000) in the artist’s creation there is a major turning: distinct signs of an art related to the abstract, geometrical forms, with the predominance of the harmony of the color, appear also identify in the works of sculpture realized from details and metal or wood shapes , objects that were no longer of initial use.
