Holotype. HNHM Pseudoscorp-230: ♂ “ Chthonius (C.) hungaricus n. sp. Holotypus, det. V. Mahnert 1980, ♂ ”, “HNP [Hortobágy National Park], Ujszentmargita. [Újszentmargita] rét [meadow], rostálás [sieving], 26.X.1974, [leg.] Hámori-Maroti ” [Hungary].

Paratypes. HNHM Pseudoscorp-227: 1 tritonymph “ Chthonius (C.) hungaricus n. sp. Tritonymphe, Paratypus, det. V. Mahnert 1980”, “HNP [Hortobágy National Park], Ujszentmargita [Újszentmargita] erdő [forest], 1 m 2 rostálás [sieving], 1975. V.23., leg: Horvatovich”. HNHM Pseudoscorp-228: 1 ♀ “ Chthonius (C.) hungaricus n. sp. ♀ Paratypus, det. V. Mahnert 1980”, “HNP [Hortobágy National Park], Ujszentmargita [Újszentmargita] erdő [forest], fák töve rostálva [sieved from bottom of trees], 1975. IV.28, leg. Horvatovich ”. HNHM Pseudoscorp-229: 1 ♀ “ Chthonius (C.) hungaricus n. sp. ♀ Paratypus, det. V. Mahnert 1980”, “Hongrie [Hungary], Hortobagy Nat. Current status. Valid, as Chthonius hungaricus Mahnert, 1980.

Remark. Further paratypes (1 ♂, 2 ♀) are housed in NHMG.
