Peculiarities of Understanding the Grammatical Meaning of Word-Combinations by Senior Preschoolers

Description

The aim. To investigate the state of development of operations on understanding the meaning of word-combinations by children of the senior preschool age.

Research procedure. In our study was used the method of “Understanding the words” (Luria, 1998); it was aimed at investigating the state of development in children of the intra-speech operations on semantic syntaxing and choice of language values.

Results. It was revealed the multileveled state of development in children of the operations on understanding the meaning of word-combinations, which is conditionally fixed in the form of 4 levels: high, sufficient, medium, low. The reasons for the lack of understanding the meaning of word-combinations in children are: a) the underdevelopment of the operations on separating the links and relations between the objects and phenomena of reality; b) the underdevelopment of operations on correlation and comprehension of the heard word combination with the system of links and relations of the extra-lingual reality, reproduced in a nuclear grammatical construction; c) the underdevelopment of operations on simultaneous analysis and synthesis.
