Investıgatıng The Role Of Workplace Frıendshıp On Organızatıonal Commıtment

Various factors that affect organizational commitment (OC) have been examined by many researchers. However, among these antecedents, workplace friendship has not gained significant attention yet. Only a few have tested the indirect role of workplace friendship on organiational ommitment. This present study was designed to investigate the direct role of workplace friendship on organizational commitment. The research was carried out on a sample of 221 white collar employees in Istanbul, Turkey. Regression analysis was used to analyze the data collected. It will be noted that workplace friendship has a positive effect on the organizational commitment. By emphasizing the role of workplace friendship on organizational commitment this paper povides valuable insights on how organizations can increase organizational commitment by fostering workplace friendship
