Spirituality as a Factor of Legal Socialization

Spirituality provides a person with an opportunity to be unique and different.

The person acquires her spiritual world during the whole life and does not exist as an objective reality. Spiritual world is responsible for establishment of personality.  

Spirituality is a person’s permanent feature. Due to spiritual roots the person acquires her views, aspirations and ideals. Personal needs are formed through spirituality and the person acquires a wish which influences her choice of future life activities. Only analyzing the personality, her external (material) and internal (spiritual) worlds it is efficient to do any theoretical and legal research.   

Spirituality is a topical issue for Ukraine which should be solved. Nowadays we witness the crisis in moral and legal awareness, social instability, political disorientation and destabilization of Ukrainian citizens. The scientists name collapse of totalitarian system which established a single mindset and a single system of values as the main factor of this crisis. The way to the development of spirituality is hard and complicated by social and economic crisis but it is important and necessary during hard times in life.  

The article tries to find out the role of spirituality during legal socialization of a person. Spirituality is emphasized as a factor which contributes to the increase of efficiency of legal socialization, Ukraine’s approximation to the ideal of law-based democratic state. The main approaches to identification of correlation between the person’s spirituality and law have been developed in the research.
