Description
This release of TDOSE is described in Schmidt et al. (2019).
TDOSE version 3.0 extracts 1D spectra from 3D IFS data cubes based on modeling reference images of individual sources. Such models can be generated using multivariate Gaussians by TDOSE, be provided as 2D GALFIT models, or as individual independent 2D fits models.
Simultaneous scaling of all source fluxes at each wavelength layer in the IFS data cube enables effective de-blending of objects and the ability to modify and correct IFS data cubes for undesired (contaminating) flux.
Improvements compared to TDOSE version 2.0 includes:
- Handling GALFIT reference image models by converting these into TDOSE model cube input
- Generate source catalogs based on GALFIT models
- Creating model cube input from individual 2D source models
- Handle cube modifications with modification setup file
- Represent non-detections in reference image as point sources in extractions
- Correction to 1D noise for multiple sources being combined
