Properties of the interstellar medium and star formation in low-metallicity galaxies
Description
The reduced dust abundances in low-metallicity galaxies cause the radiation from newly formed stars to have a dramatic impact on the surrounding ISM and subsequent star formation. I will highlight some recent results that aim to characterize the dust and gas reservoirs as well as changes in the physical conditions and the structure of the ISM at low metallicity, with a particular focus on infrared-millimeter studies of nearby galaxies.
