Chemical analysis of the Bulge Globular Cluster NGC 6553
Description
The study of the stellar abundances in the Galactic Bulge is of great importance to understand the chemical evolution that occurred in our galaxy. Within this context, the Multiple Populations (MPs) found in the Globular Clusters (GCs) play a fundamental role. The purpose of this study is to perform a detailed analysis of chemical abundances of a large number of elements to a sample of stars belonging to the bulge globular cluster NGC 6553. In order to determine chemical patterns that allow us to appreciate if the phenomenon of MPs takes place in one of the most metal-rich GCs in the galaxy. This analysis is being carried out with a sample of spectroscopic data obtained by the FLAMES/GIRAFFE spectrograph mounted on the Kueyen VLT-UT2 telescope of the Paranal Observatory (Chile) and with photometric data obtained by Variables in the Vīa Láctea Survey (VVV). This study will also allow us to compare chemical patterns of this GC with others Bulge GCs, as well as with field stars belonging to this one.
