This paper reports on recent work to develop an online course in introductory university mathematics. The course is delivered entirely as a series of quizzes, which interleave textbook-style written content with STACK questions and other interactive elements. The paper describes how ideas from education research have informed the design of the course, with a particular focus on how individual tasks have been designed using STACK.
