The Slavic Wagrier tribe settled in today's eastern and southeastern parts of Holstein from the 6th/7th to the 14th century. Their presence is documented not only by archaeological and historical sources but also linguistically. An investigation of the Holstein Slavs therefore requires various disciplines. The following article will shed light on the presence of the Slavs at that time, first from an archaeological-historical point of view and then from a linguistic point of view. It provides an insight into the interaction between the disciplines and thus the interdisciplinarity of this topic.
